Follow the building progress of my Mountfield dolls house from the Dolls House Emporium.

This is my second dolls house; the first one was built from a cheap kit bought from Ebay and completed about eight years ago. Although my friends enjoyed poking their noses in through the windows to see what was inside, I just had a feeling I could do an awful lot better.

This is house number two; my attempt at improving upon house number one. I hope you enjoy it.

The Tiling's On The Wall

The tiling was done in the same way as the bricks.  Tiles 1" by 1/2" cut out of a piece of painted sandpaper, then stuck onto the upper bay overlapping each one to give the 3D effect.
The lead flashing was part of a cereal box cut to shape and sprayed using some grey primer we had in the garage.  To give it a slight metallic look, I brushed some watered down PVA glue over it.

Isn't it satisfying to see how each step makes such a huge difference to the appearance? The facade is looking really good. Your eye for detail and the care you take is certainly showing in the finish.
